Summer Sunflowers was inspired in my own backyard! We have four chickens that love sunflower seeds. As a result, our backyard is filled with volunteer sunflowers that pop up all over in the spring. This year we had a giant volunteer in our greenhouse. It grew like Jack's beanstalk, and smashed into the ceiling, and still didn't give up, producing a multitude of branches and flowers on each one. Even if some of them were deformed from the ceiling, they still brought joy to my day. I like to think that this sunflower represents the power, resilience, and perseverance of plants!
